YachtFlags.com provides high quality courtesy flags that are manufactured in durable Knitted Polyester fabric. Knitted so that the fabric itself does not deteriorate in the constant movement that marine flags are usually exposed to, and polyester so that the flag does not weaken in the strong UV-light usually found in the main sailing areas of the world.

Arriving by Yacht:
Customs may appear when you clear-in to the DR and require a form to be filled out. This does not occur in every port and not all the time. The requirement exists but is inconsistent as most Customs work is directed to commercial and charter yachts.
Length of Stay:
Visiting yachts are permitted to cruise the DR for 2 months (60 days) - this was reduced from 90 days in December 2023. Despachos are free to transit from port to port. If you want to stay longer and cruise around the country (or keep your boat in a DR marina), then prior to the 60 days expiring you must go and see the comandante of the Armada/Navy to apply for a Navigational Permit for either a 6 or 12 month extension. This is the same as a cruising permit to stay in DR waters. Having a Navigational Permit does not negate the requirement to obtain despachos. Liability insurance is needed (this can be purchased locally).
See Documents for more details about the Navigational Permit.
If you want to haul out after 60 days, it is possible the Armada will grant you an exception to the Navigational Permit (although this will have to be applied for before going back into the water). There are Armada officials in Luperon and Samana who can advise on the latest rules.
Other Items:
Firearms are checked by the Naval boarding officer so you must “make safe” and box all firearms and hand over the ammunition. Certificates of ownership must be provided. The Navy will keep firearms safe and issue you with a receipt for you to collect them when you check-out of the DR.
