Dominican Republic Clearance Agents
Clearance agents are not required for the Domincan Republic however there are useful contacts that regularly help cruisers navigate the formalities.

Denise Simpson (Rep for SSCA, OCC, CA) cruiser liveaboard, resides in Cofresi, Ocean World Marina, Puerto Plata on “SV Fair Lady” deniswithane61@gmail.com and WhatsApp +1 (829) 926-9392 with her daughter Natasha Simpson WhatsApp +1 (829) 782-5226. Both are happy to assist cruisers with pre-entry procedures and advice on moorings, marina space, repair contacts etc. Denise also runs the very helpful FB Dominican Republic Cruisers.
SE to SW Coasts
Veit Ladurner is an Italian cruiser based in Santo Domingo on the Ozama River at Marina Bartholme WhatsApp +1 (809) 785-1126 and
sailing@veitladurner.com. Veit works with Denise and is also a moderator on the
FB Dominican Republic Cruisers.
Samana
Luis, the very friendly and helpful agent in Samana sadly passed away in December 2022 according to a report from Denise Simpson, the voluntary regional host/port officer for the SSCA and OCC in the Dominican Republic.
Domingo (+1 829 363 3843) has a dinghy and motorbike for errands and can help with clearing in, laundry, groceries etc. His English is not the best but he is trying to help.
Carlos speaks better English and is also keen to help out cruisers.
Luperon
Andy (WhatsApp +1 829 484-4538 - slow English or English text) and Papo (WhatsApp +1 809 272-0131 in slow English or text with translation to Spanish) are the only legal DR ports permit contractors for moorings, boat watch and full services such as water (no free municipal tap), propane, diesel/petrol (there is no fuel pump dock in Luperón), laundry and boat parts.
Live ashore ex-cruiser, Kathay McColl has a cruiser hang out there (lived there since 2011). She is happy to assist all cruisers with pre-entry procedures country wide and advice on moorings, marina space, repair contacts etc. Contact Kathay at e-mail:
