Chile - Pets

Dogs and cats must have a zoosanitary import certificate (CZI) issued by the health authority of the country of origin and must comply with the following health requirements:

  • The pet must have undergone (within 10 days of travel) a clinical examination to confirm the pet is free from infectious or parasitic diseases. Dogs must not have exhibited clinical signs of Leishmania infantum during the clinical evaluation.
  • The pet has been vaccinated against rabies at least 21 days prior to entering Chile.
  • The pet has undergone internal and external anti-parasite treatment between five (5) and thirty (30 days) prior to entering Chile.

Note:  The animal health import certificate (CZI) is valid for 10 days, with a maximum extension of 5 days.

If the pet is coming from the European Union countries, a valid EU pet passport is required.
