Channel Islands - Immigration

Jun 18, 2024

Channel Islands Immigration Procedure:

There are no immigration controls between the UK and the Channel Islands. If you hold a British passport, you’re not required to carry it to visit the CIs. However, it is recommended to bring a photo ID such as a driving licence while other transport providers require you to carry your passport.

Anyone arriving on the island from outside the Common Travel Area (CTA) will need to show a valid passport or identity card with a visa.

Most visitors are granted up to a six-month stay.

Visa Information:

  • Channel Islands visa requirements are the same as the UK visa requirements.
  • Schengen visas are not valid for the Channel Islands.
  • If you require a visa, it must be granted before you travel.
  • See Visa Passport Requirements for Jersey.

Incoming Crew and Guests :

Immigration must be notified of any persons leaving or joining vessels that are arriving from or departing from places other than the UK or other Channel Islands.
