Description:

Braye harbor (also known as Alderney harbor) is the main harbor for the island and is located on the north coast. It's an artificial harbor with an extremely long breakwater (3000 ft) offering some protection.

Port of entry; most protected harbor on the island; marine services; shoreside facilities; chandlery; laundry; duty-free goods; harbor taxi.

Entrance Notes and Cautions:

  • Notice March 2022: Russian flagged or registered yachts are not permitted to enter a port in the Bailiwick of Guernsey. See LNTM No. 007/2022.
  • The harbor provides good shelter except in strong NE or E winds. If such conditions are forecast, it is best to leave, if possible, as the harbor can become untenable.
  • The speed limit inside the harbor is 4 knots.
  • It is not permitted to tie up to the commercial Quay or the Breakwater. 
  • It is not permitted to anchor in the Fairway or close to Braye Jetty, or to tie up to Braye Jetty.
