Located on the northern side of Hillsborough Bay on the southern coast of Prince Edward Island, Charlottetown lies at the confluence of the Hillsborough, the West and the North Rivers. It is the capital and largest city on the island and is noted for being the birthplace of the Canadian Confederation.
