Description:
Dampier is an iron ore exporting port. Salt is also shipped from here. Hampton Harbour is the commercial port. Together with the neighbouring town of Karratha, this is principally an industrial complex.
Onslow, 50 miles to the west is the principal holiday town in this area, with recreational facilities.
