Where is Kangaroo Island?

Kangaroo Island  is a popular tourist destination and lies about 8nm off the mainland of South Australia, approximately 80nm southwest of the city of Adelaide.  Kingscote is the largest town on Kangaroo Island and is situated in Nepean Bay on the eastern end of the island.

Cruiser Highlights for Kangaroo Island:

Over a third of the island is protected in nature reserves and is home to native wildlife like sea lions, koalas and many diverse bird species. In the west, Flinders Chase National Park is known for penguin colonies and striking coastal rock formations.

The owner of the Bay of Shoals winery has competed in the Sydney to Hobart yacht race many times and is very welcoming to cruisers heading across the Great Australian Bight.
