The international dialing code for Ascension Island is +247.
Sure (ex. Cable & Wireless) now offers 2G and 4G LTE mobile network. Prepaid SIM cards can be purchased in their office in Georgetown. Data bundles are available and reception (internet usage) is now possible on board. 4G internet is very fast, but expensive compared to other countries and cheaper than WiFi hotspots on the island if it is not used for large data transfers.
Your SIM card from St. Helena, if topped-up and a data bundle purchased on St. Helena, can be used on Ascension Island under the same conditions (no roaming surcharge), which makes for a very practical solution without first needing to visit the mobile operator's office.
However, SIM cards from St. Helena cannot be topped-up on Ascension Island, so top up before you leave St. Helena.
Alternatively, you will need to buy a new SIM card on Ascension Island.
