Attacks in the Gulf of Guinea peaked between 2019 and 2023, however during 2024 did reduce in number. All waters in/off Nigeria remain risky. Vessels are advised to be vigilant, as many incidents may have gone unreported. Cruisers transiting the Mozambique channel or indeed planning on visiting Mozambique are advised to be cautious.
