Citizen Science: Ordinary people sharing their time to help collect and monitor observations on oceans, in nature and in society. A research method and experience, conducted to improve the capacity for scientific communities while increasing the understanding of science for all. Through citizen science projects it is easy to team up with scientists to contribute valuable data to a variety of marine studies. There are many projects to choose from, on a wide range of topics offering a variety of levels of involvement. Research expeditions, especially offshore, can be very expensive - so scientists often welcome data from volunteers.
