Tas Maritime Radio provides safety communication services to mariners throughout the southern Australian island state of Tasmania and is the only official Coast Radio Service in the state.
Routine services include providing:
- a listening watch on VHF and HF distress and calling channels;
- routine skeds over VHF and HF frequencies;
- coastal waters forecasts at sked times or on demand;
- Notices to Mariners and maritime safety information;
- logging vessel movements;
- automated weather broadcast for southeastern Tasmania;
- rescue coordination
