Shute Harbour suffered during Tropical Cyclone Debbie in 2018 and is largely unused. It is a sheltered port for small vessels located approximately 10km east of Airlie Beach. There is no marina here but Whitsunday Rent a Yacht still operate here and have their own berths.
No ferries use the harbour now - they operate out of Port Airlie.
The anchorage here is secure and boats still moor here.
