The 60-ton slipway is still operating but only for haul outs on mono hulls as the bigger slipway that can cater for catamarans is not operational.
100 ft dock for berthing and moorings are available. Machine shop, welding and woodworking shop, engineering services and a trade store. Yacht storage. Accommodation on site.
Transport is available on request at a daily rate. Fortnightly on Fridays is shopping day to Gizo, 14 miles away and only a fare rate charged.
Noel Hudson, who ran the facility and was well known to cruisers died in February 2022 but the new owners Diane Dettke and her husband Bodo intend to keep Liapari running as a safe marina/anchorage and welcome sailors from around the world.
Diane and Bodo are based in Honiara but managers Gizella Rovo (Honiara based) and Cynthia Pana who is on-site at Liapari will look after cruisers.
