The Bluewater Cruising Association is a not-for-profit organization with local Chapters in Vancouver, Calgary and on Vancouver Island that helped aspiring offshore mariners prepare themselves and their boats for cruising beyond protected coastal waters.
The mission of the Bluewater Cruising Association is to foster seamanship and friendship for people with an active interest in offshore cruising. They achieve this by providing a forum for communication and information exchange among members through regular meetings, social events, courses and especially, the Association’s widely acclaimed publication, “Currents”.
The Bluewater Cruising Association launched a new initiative in May 2024 called “Environmentally and Socially Responsible Cruising”.
They have added a new value and pledge to their strategic direction and have put together a list of best practices, and published a number of articles and news items in “Currents” magazine.
