The marina at Mangrove Bay (close to the old Rumor's Dock) opened for business late 2012. It is well protected with floating docks and water but no electricity. It is hoped power will be available soon. Yachts can take a slip for $200 a month. New clean bathrooms and picnic/party areas are used by all visitors whether anchored out or docked in the marina. Kumer will enlarge the marina dock area to add more slips as the demand warrants. He also plans to deepen the mud bottom marina from approximately 9 feet at low water to safely accept deeper draft vessels. The owner Kumer, a delightful, helpful and generous local businessman/fisherman, outdoes himself in efforts to please visitors. He is adding new services as quickly as possible and a new fuel berth is expected to be ready soon (Aug 2013).
