Where is Serangan?

Serangan lies on the east coast of Bali, about 1km north of the entrance to Benoa Harbour and is a popular destination for yachts cruising this part of Indonesia.  The bay is well protected from the open sea by the offshore reef.

Entrance Notes and Cautions for Serangan:

This harbour lies 1 KM to the north of Benoa and is accessed through a separate marked channel through the reef. Night arrivals are not recommended as there are shallow reefs either side of the entrance channel.

A busy and crowded anchorage with fast boats and ferries arriving from and leaving for nearby islands including Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Penida and Lombok.

Cruiser Highlights for Serangan:

This is a busy harbour, but a good location if you need to provision or access medical facilities while in Bali.  There are marine shops and tradesmen in the area but no haulout facilities.  People are friendly and helpful and there are good hotels and restaurants in and around Serangan if you need a break from boatlife.
